These are the steps to get yourself a Green CSCS card – this is the entry level labourer card.
Before you can get the card, you will have to sit the CITB Operatives Health, safety and environment test which is valid for 2 years and it costs £22.50.
You can do this by calling this number here 0344 994 4488.
Or you can apply online via the link here https://www.citb.co.uk/courses-and-qualifications/health-safety-and-environment-hse-test-and-cards/book-a-test/
Make sure your bring your passport on the day and you will also need to have your NI number to hand.
You will then need to get an NVQ Level 1 - this will test your knowledge on health and safety awareness and is the first step up the NVQ ladder. I would recommend getting the Health and Safety Awareness Course through CITB (The Industry Training Board for the UK Construction industry). This cost £99 and can be done online here (https://ecourses.citb.co.uk/learningprograms/viewprogram/id,2). If you prefer to do it in person then this can be booked here (https://www.citb.co.uk/courses-and-qualifications/find-a-training-course/site-safety-plus-courses/).
Once you have done the test and the NVQ you can apply for the card, this costs £36 - here is the link - https://www.cscsonline.uk.com/card-finder - click occupation and enter 'Labourer', then select Yes under qualifications and enter 'health and safety' - it should come up with a Green Labourer card - Login and submit payment to receive your card.
